Q. I have been told that weight training can cause high blood pressure. Is this the reason why most body builders look so big and unhealthy?
A. At Miracles for Men we believe that natural body builders are the healthiest individuals around. This is both physically and mentally because of the mental discipline one has to have to be good at weight training. A weight lifter who includes cardiovascular exercises is a very healthy individual.
Q. Why do I get stretch marks after I have been exercising for some time?
A. If you are weight training the right way, you are bound to gain muscle mass. This will stretch your skin and will unfortunately lead to stretch marks in most individuals. It is a natural occurrence and taking topical creams that contain collagen might help you. However, it might not completely remove the stretch marks.
Q. I have been trying to get a six pack for the past 6 months with little success. What weight lifting techniques can I use to get the six pack?
A. You already have a six pack. It might be defined due to the fat covering the six pack. Doing sit ups and crunches alone will not help much, you need to get rid of the fat and cardiovascular exercises would help in that.
Q. Is drinking water a help if I wish to lose body fat?
A. Yes, at Miracles for Men we advocate drinking water and lots of it. Including water intake during your training routines will greatly enhance your weight loss.
Q. My doctor is recommending drinking warm water rather than cold water. However, I feel cold water quenches my thirst faster. What is the opinion of Miracles for Men?
A. Your doctor is right. Drinking water that is at room temperature can hydrate you better than ice cold water. At the same time drinking cold water can help you burn more calories since your body will be working overtime to heat the water to your body temperature so that it can absorb it. So if your goal is to reduce your fat levels, ice cold water will help with that. However, if you are trying to make sure you are properly hydrated, room temperature is the best solution for you.
Q. I have decided to seriously start weight training. What do you recommend as the number of meals I should have per day?
A. You will be using more of your food nutrients to support your weight training activities. So you need to increase your food intake. However, increasing the quantity of food does not mean sacrificing the quantity of food intake. It is interesting to note that with good weight training, you actually can reduce your body fat with eating more. Increase your food snacks to about 5 a day. Note you do not need to increase the quantity just the quality in your snacks and you should be able to gain muscle and loss fat at the same time.
Q. Is there any recommendation that Miracles for men have for the intervals in taking snacks.
A. At Miracles for Men we recommend that you keep snacks within three hour time frames. This prevents muscle shrinkage and keeps the metabolism high enough to burn excess calories. If you find that eating every three hours is a hassle, find good food supplements in form of good quality vitamins and minerals, anti oxidants and other food supplements.
Q. If I only eat fat free foods, does it mean I can eat as much I wish? I find myself always hungry after good exercise.
A. Just because a product says it is fat free does not mean it does not contain sugar. At Miracles for Men we have realised that most fat free products contain calories from the artificial sweeteners that are included. Make sure to note the calorie content of what you eat rather than it being fat free or not.
