Bodybuilding Tips

When one engages in bodybuilding one is growing and increasing the size of muscle cells through weight training, good sports nutrition and rest. The muscles are revealed through loss of fat, and oils in the body. The sport of bodybuilding has grown in time with women also joining in the sport.

Bodybuilding has now been taken up as an essential part of increasing your overall health. With the right amount of sports nutrition, weight training and determination, anyone can start bodybuilding and increase their overall health with a few basic bodybuilding tips.

In order to increase muscle tissue, the body must be force to add it. The way to add the muscle is to subject your muscles to levels of stress it is not used to. Lifting the same amount of weights everyday, will not add any muscle as the body is already used to it and has built enough muscle to take care of that weight. To add stress to your muscles consider doing the following.

1. Increase the Weight training

If you are used to bench pressing 100 pounds increase the weights in order to add stress to your muscle. By increasing the weight or resistance, encourages micro-tears in the muscle that result in muscle growth.

2. Increase Repetitions

Other than increasing the weight, you can also increase the number of repetitions you are doing for a particular exercise. It has the effect of strengthening the muscle thus increasing chances of you keeping the muscle that you have grown.

In addition to increasing repetitions you should also increase the number of sets that you do for the same exercise.

3. Slower Resistance

It is more difficult to do an exercise in at a slower speed. Slowing down your resistance has the added effect of preventing a knee jerk effect on your exercises. It also helps increase your muscle mass faster.

4. Rest Less

It is important to rest between reps if only to catch your breath. However, resting less between reps will improve your bodybuilding. Change the frequency of your exercises, sets, reps and rest time in order to shock your body.

A variation to less rest is to hold resistance for a while at the hardest position of the range of motion.

5. Sports Nutrition

It is very important to replenish your muscles and body if you are doing weight training. Your torn muscles will grow best and faster if they have enough nutrients to re-build. Adding supplements, sports drinks and healthy foods to your diet will help everyone who is weight training.

There are many other tips on bodybuilding. The purpose of which should be to increase intensity in your muscles and thus ensure progress. It is critical that one does bodybuilding progressively to avoid injury and also to ensure muscle growth.
