Cayenne Pepper

What is Cayenne Pepper?

Cayenne pepper has been used for centuries as a medicinal and culinary herb. Most of us just think of it as "hot red pepper" to be used for spicing up chilli dishes or other Asian meals, but it is so much more. Cayenne pepper is a pepper that is not only good to eat but great for your health.

Cayenne pepper has been touted as one of the most useful herbs in the world. Its uses are myriad. Though scientific testing has not been concluded for most of the claims, it has still managed to stand on a class of its own.

One of its major uses includes the healing of ulcers. This may seem contrary to its native heat but users swear by it. Cayenne pepper users claim that it immediately equalizes blood pressure in your system.

Cayenne peppers are reported to kill prostate cancer cells, among other fantastic health benefits. It is great for circulation, rebuilding blood cells, is fantastic for the heart. In fact some claim that it can stop heart attacks and remove plaque from the arteries.
It is great for shrinking haemorrhoids, and helps the gall bladder. It can be used as a diuretic as well helping in elimination both with urine and with the built-up faecal matter in the intestines. It has great antifungal properties as well.

Cayenne pepper can help rebuild flesh destroyed or harmed by frostbite. It is now used in some bug sprays since it seems that many insects do not like it.

As can be seen, the health benefits of Cayenne pepper are numerous and more research still needs to be done.

Side Effects and Warnings of Cayenne Pepper

One of the biggest issues with Cayenne pepper is that it is not for the faint hearted. It has a hot taste that may require that you get used to. If you take Cayenne pepper mixed with warm water, as most suggest, it can come out with a very uncomfortable burning. It is usually advisable to take small amounts as your body gets used to it.

Other than that, there are no other serious health issues taking this product. However, we always recommend that you seek medical advice before taking any supplements.
