The Diary - January 2008
It is the beginning of what promises to be a great year in sports. There are a lot of great events that Miracles for Men will be participating in this year culminating in the Beijing Olympics.
Top of our list will be following the progress of Roger Federer in Tennis as he tries to break more records in the game. We shall also be looking at the Mr. Olympia title to see if we can get a new world champion. However, the Olympics are our main event and we are already booked for the games.
We also plan to get more involved in men’s health conferences around the world as that is the principle goal of our organization.
Australian Open – January 14th - 27th
Probably the biggest announcement before the games started was the introduction of a newer, faster plexicushion surface to the open. After years of players complaining that the Australian Open surface caused injuries, the new surface was introduced.
The ejections of Roger Federer, Andy Roddick and Rafael Nadal were the surprises of the tournament. However the best performance came from the unseeded Jo-Wilfried who lost in the final to Novak Dokovic.
This is probably why the Australian Open keeps its charm.
African Nations Cup 2008 - January 20th - February 8th
We love football at Miracles for Men and for the first time we sent our representatives to the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament.
It might seem like a surprise to do so but the football world can no longer pretend that world football is not affected by the African players. All the top teams in European football have one or two pinnacle players from Africa and Miracles for Men decided to start a new collaboration with the tournament.
The tournament ends next month but so far the games have been superb and Pele was probably right when he said an African team was about to win the World Cup.
Kindest Regards
The Miracles For Men Team
