The Nervous System
The nervous system is what allows an individual to make contact with his external or internal environments and aids in creating appropriate responses to these environments.
The nervous system is responsible for sending, receiving and processing nerve impulses in the body. Body organs provide information about the environment through senses like sight, hearing, taste, touch, pain, pressure or smell.
Nerves then send this information to the brain in the form of electrochemical signals or impulses, which makes a decision on what to do with the information.
