Why its Important to Keep Calm under Pressure
The ever changing times are making it very difficult to keep calm. From having to rise very early in the morning to make sure your family is ready for school, to having to go through grid lock traffic, by the time your boss complains about something in the office you are already stressed out.
It is not easy to remain calm in this day and age especially when you think that life is handing you a bad deck of cards every day. However, it is very important to remain focused and calm under pressure if we are going to reach any of our set goals.
You Will Find a Solution
The problem with getting yourself stressed out about any situation is that you turn yourself into a victim instead of looking for better ways to solve a problem. When you are stressed out you end up spending most of the time complaining and burying yourself in more misery.
When you are calm under pressure, you give your mind the space to think of a solution. You tend to prioritize the item that needs to be solved during a crisis while still able to think of solutions to future problems.
Avoid Causing More Damage
The reason why you are not allowed to shout “fire!” in a crowded place like a movie theatre is because you can cause panic. When one person is in a panicky mood, a situation is already unsafe. However, if everyone who is in a particular situation is panicky, it can lead to a fluid situation that can cause more harm.
You will probably see this with firemen, who though may be in fear of a fire, have been trained to look calm so as not to further fuel a volatile situation. If you are at work and everyone seems worried, you will be the one to turn to for a solution if you are the one who looks calm and collected.
Avoid Unnecessary Health Conditions
If you are always worried and scared of every situation that comes your way, you might as well book yourself a spot at the hospital. It has been shown that constant stress can lead to various conditions such as migraines, stomach ulcers and even depression.
If you are calm under pressure, you save yourself the headache of getting stress related conditions. You are then able to live a longer and healthier life without the constant stomach upsets that can accompany those who are under undue pressure.
Stress is a normal part of every day life. How you react to stress is the issue. If you learn to cope and adapt when under pressure, you will eventually gain more knowledge and grow stronger as a person.
